Access

We use OpenAthens which works with the UK Access Management Federation for Education and Research to enable online resources to offer services to you using your University username and password.

The University verifies that you are a member of the University and then passes a secure token (cookie) over to your browser, which it can then provide to online resources so they can see if you are eligible for access.

OpenAthens Session Cookies contain an username and an token and are used to facilitate the OpenAthens single sign-on service, enabling you to access all of the protected resources which you are entitled to access. Neither the username nor the token contain any personal information. These cookies remain in the cookie file of your system for a maximum of eight hours after they were initially created and are automatically removed if your browser session is terminated before the eight hour period has elapsed.
